Thanks to you....we are serving 3,000 children annually. Please help us help as many children as possible reach their true potential. |
The Sports Buddies program provides children, ages 7 to 14, with the opportunity to build positive peer relationships, have fun and learn new skills in the area of informal athletics. Our non-competitive format focuses attention on helping kids develop the self-respect, integrity and constructive peer relationships they need to succeed in life, instead of winning or losing.
The Sports Buddies program is seasonal and runs for five Sundays each fall, winter and spring. Sessions take place at Camp Max Straus and run for approximately five hours. Children are teamed up with caring adults volunteers and provided with endless opportunities to experience fulfilling and enriching moments that come from team work.
They will develop wonderful relationships with each other and the volunteers as they laugh and enjoy the giggles of kicking a soccer ball, throwing a football or swinging a bat. You don\'t need to be an athlete either!
The program is generously supported through a grant from the Amy Phillips Charitable Foundation and endorsed by Olympic Gold Medalist Mitch Gaylord.
