The Arts Buddies program provides children, ages 7 to 14, with the opportunity to build positive peer relationships, have fun and create their own masterpiece - perhaps it's their rendition of Monet, Van Gogh or their own impressionist work.
The Arts Buddies program involves a trained arts specialist and teams adult volunteers together to work with children. It is seasonal and runs for five Sundays each fall, winter and spring. Sessions take place at Camp Max Straus and run for approximately five hours. Watching the children approach the projects is a fascinating and inspiring experience. Volunteer mentors develop lasting relationships with the children, sharing stories and exchanging creative ideas.
