Enroll Your CHild
One more adult who believes in your child.
When your child faces pressure at school, struggles to find their place, or feels uncertain about the future, a caring adult who’s paying attention makes all the difference. Our mentors, camp leaders, and college counselors show up for kids who need them, every single week.
Getting started is simple.
01
Join an Info Session
Register for a 30-minute Zoom with our enrollment staff and other parents/guardians. This is the best way to get an overview of our one-to-one program, including information about eligibility, our volunteer “Bigs”, the commitment and expectations, and our many safety measures.
02
Application and Meeting with an Enrollment Specialist
We will get to know you and your child privately and learn what you’re hoping for in a mentor. This conversation helps us find the right match.
03
Get Matched
Your child is paired with a Big based on alignment of interests, needs, strengths, personalities, proximity and more. Then the relationship begins!
Questions parents ask.
Is there a cost?
No. All JBBBSLA programs are free for families. No hidden fees, no tuition, no costs.
Is this really for my family?
How are mentors screened?
Every volunteer mentor goes through a comprehensive screening process including background checks, interviews, and training. We also provide ongoing support and supervision for every mentoring relationship. Your child’s safety is our priority.
How long is the commitment?
What ages do you serve?
Mentoring: ages 6–17. Camp Bob Waldorf: ages 7–17. College Access & Success: ages 14–18. Your child doesn’t have to be Jewish. We serve all families.
Can my child do more than one program?
Yes. Some kids are in mentoring year-round and attend summer camp. Others combine college access with mentoring. Talk to your Family Coordinator about what makes sense for your child.
Hear from families like yours.
Your child is ready. So are we.
The hardest step is reaching out. Let’s start the conversation. Whether you want to fill out a quick form or talk to someone first, we’re here to help.
